The game begins in Level 37, known as the Poolrooms—a stark environment of endless, reflective pools and white tiles bathed in harsh light. From here, players navigate a series of unsettling locations that evoke fragments of the protagonist’s forgotten past, including faded memories of home and an infinite staircase descending deeper into darkness. Each area is carefully crafted to evoke a sense of eerie emptiness and disquiet, drawing players into a world where familiar places are distorted and transformed into uncanny environments. The narrative unfolds gradually through exploration, revealing glimpses of a life lost to water and regret, as the player descends toward a final, nightmarish destination: Hell, a place where twisted visions and despair converge. Gameplay in Liminalcore emphasizes atmosphere and psychological tension over combat, with minimal entities appearing throughout the experience. Instead, the core challenge lies in confronting the oppressive silence, strange echoes, and haunting isolation of these liminal realms.
