Game Overview
Shadow Tactics: Aiko’s Choice invites players back to the richly detailed world of early Edo-period Japan, continuing the story from the acclaimed Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. This standalone expansion centers on Aiko, a skilled kunoichi who uses her mastery of disguise and stealth to navigate dangerous environments. When her former mentor, the elusive spymaster Lady Chiyo, resurfaces, Aiko is drawn into a deadly pursuit to confront the shadows of her past. The narrative unfolds across three expansive main missions and several shorter interludes, set in diverse locations ranging from hidden forest camps to bustling towns, all rendered with vibrant historical authenticity. Gameplay revolves around controlling a diverse team of five unique assassins, each bringing specialized abilities to the table. Alongside Aiko’s cunning disguise and distractions, players can command Hayato, a nimble ninja; Mugen, a powerful samurai capable of taking on multiple foes; Yuki, a young thief who excels with traps and decoys; and Takuma, a sharpshooter who combines marksmanship with his loyal dog, Kuma. Players are encouraged to craft their own tactics by combining stealth, traps, distractions, and lethal or non-lethal takedowns. The game’s signature “Shadow Mode” allows precise synchronization of team actions, enabling coordinated strikes against enemies. With multiple difficulty settings and a variety of strategic options, Aiko’s Choice offers a challenging and immersive stealth experience that stands on its own while enriching the world of Shadow Tactics.
