Taking place before the events of the original SpellForce: The Order of Dawn, the game unfolds in the aftermath of the Mage Wars, a conflict that left the land fractured and plagued by a deadly affliction known as the Bloodburn. Amidst the chaos, factions vie for power and survival, including the Purity of Light, a zealot group led by Rondar Lacaine who blame mages for the realm’s troubles. Players create and customize their own hero, selecting from distinct skill trees to shape their abilities, and recruit a diverse party of companions whose unique traits influence both combat and story progression. Gameplay in SpellForce 3: Reforced revolves around managing your hero’s development alongside building and commanding armies across large-scale battles. Players can choose to align with one of three factions—Humans, Elves, or Orcs—each featuring revamped designs and RTS mechanics introduced in expansions. The campaign offers over 30 hours of fully voiced narrative, playable solo or cooperatively, with an emphasis on strategic combat that incorporates terrain advantages, troop formations, and scouting.
