Smalland: Survive the Wilds invites players into a unique, miniature world where everyday natural elements become massive landscapes to explore. Set in a vibrant open environment known as the “Land of the Small,” players assume the role of Vanguard, tasked with venturing into a sprawling wilderness once dominated by giants. The game offers a fresh perspective on survival as you traverse vast lakes the size of puddles, climb towering trees, and navigate deep cracks in the earth, encountering dense forests, treacherous swamps, and mysterious ruins from an ancient era. Along the way, you’ll discover hidden lore and meet NPCs that enrich the unfolding story and provide crucial survival knowledge. Gameplay centers around exploration, crafting, and combat, with a strong emphasis on adapting to the environment and its many dangers. Players can tame and ride a variety of insects and creatures, from grasshoppers that leap great distances to nimble spiders and damselflies that help you traverse the world quickly. Building plays a key role, allowing you to construct encampments on the ground or high in the trees using materials ranging from twigs to stone. Progression is marked by crafting powerful armor sets that grant unique abilities such as gliding or grappling through the forest canopy. The game also supports multiplayer sessions for up to ten players, encouraging cooperative survival against predatory insects like ants and wasps, as well as dynamic weather and seasonal changes that constantly challenge your resourcefulness.
