Game Overview
Once Upon A KATAMARI invites players into a whimsical journey through time and space, blending charming storytelling with its signature rolling gameplay. After the King accidentally destroys the Earth, Moon, and several planets, it’s up to the Prince and his cousins to restore the stars by rolling up objects across diverse eras. From the prehistoric Jurassic period to the icy expanses of the Ice Age and the rich landscapes of historic Japan, each stage offers a unique setting filled with new challenges and surprises. Alongside a vibrant new soundtrack, the game introduces fresh mechanics like a magnet tool that attracts nearby items, adding depth to the classic katamari experience. Players can choose to control the Prince or any one of 68 customizable cousins, personalizing their appearance with a variety of colors and facial features. Progression comes through rolling up increasingly larger collections of objects to rebuild the night sky, encouraging exploration and strategic gameplay. Additionally, Once Upon A KATAMARI features a competitive multiplayer mode called KatamariBall, where up to four players can face off in a cosmic sport either online or offline. This blend of single-player adventure and engaging multiplayer action offers a playful and nostalgic experience for fans of the series and newcomers alike.
