Game Overview
Wild Bastards is a tactical first-person shooter set in a chaotic, lawless galaxy where you lead a gang of outlaws on a quest to survive and rebuild after a devastating purge. Developed by the creators of Void Bastards and Card Hunter, the game casts you as the leader of the last surviving members of the Wild Bastards, once the most feared gang in the universe. Partnering with the enigmatic sentient ship known as the Drifter, you travel from planet to planet in search of your fallen comrades, aiming to resurrect and recruit all 13 unique outlaws. Each character brings their own distinctive weaponry, special abilities, and growth paths, making team composition and strategy vital to your success. Gameplay revolves around intense, fast-paced shootouts where tactical thinking is as important as sharp aim. Enemies use cover, flanking maneuvers, and a variety of special attacks such as teleportation and poisonous projectiles, requiring players to adapt their approach constantly. Beyond combat, managing the gang’s interpersonal dynamics is essential, as relationships between outlaws can be fraught with tension and conflict. Resource management plays a key role, too, as you heal injuries, upgrade skills, and improve bonds to keep the gang effective. The galaxy itself is procedurally generated, offering diverse planets with unique environmental challenges like gravity shifts and weather effects. After completing the main story, a challenge mode unlocks, presenting increasingly difficult sectors with modifiers that test your mastery of the game’s mechanics.
