The game offers a deep RPG character development system, allowing you to customize your gladiators by selecting from seven weapon types, over 100 combat skills, and diverse classes. Gladiators are living, evolving characters who can grow stronger, sustain injuries, or even die—decisions such as sparing or executing defeated foes can have lasting consequences in this dynamic world. Gameplay in Blackthorn Arena revolves around assembling and training a team of gladiators, managing their equipment, and strategically deploying them in various battle modes including one-on-one duels, tag fights, tournaments, and even beast battles called Venationes. Beyond combat, players can send their gladiators on side missions like dungeon exploration, beast hunting, and highway robberies, enriching the world and offering additional rewards. The game features over 500 pieces of equipment, including legendary weapons and armor sets that not only enhance combat effectiveness but also boast unique visual designs.
