Aefen Fall

Aefen Fall is a first-person parkour adventure set in an atmospheric early 20th-century London reimagined with a distinctive Dieselpunk aesthetic. Players take on the role of Abadel, a fugitive alchemist hunted by the city’s government, which has quarantined the metropolis and seeks to eliminate all practitioners of alchemy. To survive, Abadel must navigate the sprawling rooftops of the city, blending fluid parkour movements with unique alchemical abilities. The game’s environment encourages exploration, offering hundreds of possible routes across the rooftops—climbing, sliding, wall-running, and swinging from bars—to reach key locations, including the city’s highest tower. In addition to agile traversal, players harness Abadel’s alchemical powers to manipulate the environment, creating new paths and overcoming obstacles. These abilities allow for creative problem-solving, such as summoning platforms from nearby objects or crystallizing enemies and hazards. The city is patrolled by robotic guardians tasked with hunting down alchemists, adding a layer of tension and challenge to each rooftop chase. Aefen Fall delivers a fast-paced experience designed for speedrunning, with multiple mechanics that reward skill and experimentation. Though the game can be completed in about 45 minutes, its rich level design and numerous route options provide strong replay value. Developed by a team of students within a year, the game embraces its ambitious scope and invites players to dive into its detailed and immersive Dieselpunk world.
