Among the Trolls

Among the Trolls is a first-person narrative adventure set deep within the mysterious Finnish wilderness, blending survival gameplay with rich storytelling inspired by Nordic mythology. Players take on the role of Anna, who travels from the United States to a remote forest cabin in Finland to visit her grandfather, only to find him missing and the cabin abandoned. As Anna, you unravel a haunting tale that weaves together ancient myths, shamanistic magic, and personal memories, drawing you into a world where the natural and supernatural coexist. The game challenges you to survive harsh weather, scarce resources, and encounters with mythical creatures drawn from the Kalevala, Finland’s national epic, while exploring a beautifully rendered 3D environment filled with atmospheric soundscapes and evocative visuals. Progression in Among the Trolls involves balancing mystical forces known as Väki (magic) and Lykky (luck) to endure the wilderness and uncover hidden secrets left behind by Anna’s grandfather. Crafting, building, and resource management are key to adapting to the unforgiving forest, while the narrative unfolds through exploration and discovery of ancient lore. The game’s immersive audiovisual design enhances the experience, combining nostalgic elements with otherworldly aesthetics that capture both the beauty and danger of the Finnish wilds.
