Game Overview
Ascending Inferno is a visually striking 2.5D precision platformer that combines challenging gameplay with a unique twist: you control Dani, a goth protagonist navigating the depths of Hell alongside her deceased brother Vincent’s soul, which takes the form of a soccer ball. After both siblings meet untimely deaths, Dani awakens in the afterlife and discovers they are trapped in Limbo. Together, they embark on a perilous journey to ascend through nine distinct and beautifully crafted layers of Hell, each inspired by modern interpretations of Dante’s Inferno. From a dilapidated castle in Limbo to a grungy nightclub in Lust and a ruined fast-food diner in Gluttony, every level is packed with intricate pixel and voxel art that adds atmosphere and depth to the experience. The gameplay centers around mastering precise platforming while skillfully juggling, kicking, and heading Vincent’s ball-shaped soul to avoid losing progress, as falling can be costly in this unforgiving environment. Each layer introduces new mechanics and obstacles that test your reflexes and timing, making every ascent a fresh challenge. Players can choose to take their time or push for speedrunning records, with a special Checkpoint Mode available for those seeking a less punishing climb. Along the way, hidden rooms reveal snippets of the siblings’ story and relationship, adding emotional weight to the intense platforming action. With unlockable cosmetics and a clever blend of narrative and gameplay, Ascending Inferno invites players to see if they have what it takes to reach Heaven—or get lost forever in Hell.
