Game Overview
Attack of the Earthlings is a darkly humorous single-player game that blends turn-based combat with stealth mechanics, placing players in control of the native alien species defending their home world from a human invasion. Set on the resource-rich Planet X13, the story revolves around the Swarmers, an aggressive insectoid race fighting against Galactoil, a greedy and dysfunctional energy corporation bent on exploiting the planet’s resources. As the Swarmers, players must strategically plan their attacks, using stealth to ambush unsuspecting human workers, set traps, and launch coordinated assaults to overwhelm their enemies. The gameplay encourages careful positioning and timing, as players emerge from vents and hiding spots to surprise the invaders and maximize their impact. Progression in Attack of the Earthlings centers on consuming fallen enemies to convert human flesh into new alien units with specialized abilities and roles, turning each kill into a resource for strengthening the Swarmers’ forces. This unique mechanic encourages players to balance offensive tactics with unit management to build an effective alien insurgency. The game also features memorable voice work from SungWon Cho, who brings to life the comically inept Regional Manager Dennis Dickinham, adding a layer of satire to the narrative. Complementing the experience is an original soundtrack by Mikolai Stroinski, known for his work on titles like The Witcher 3, which enhances the game’s quirky yet tense atmosphere. Overall, Attack of the Earthlings offers a fresh mix of strategy, stealth, and dark comedy set against a sci-fi backdrop.
