Ballex²: The Hanging Gardens is a physics-driven indie puzzle game that challenges players to navigate a series of high-altitude, gravity-based courses using nine uniquely designed spheres. Each ball, from traditional materials like wood and stone to more unconventional ones such as balloon and sticky balls, possesses distinct physical properties that influence how it interacts with the environment. Players must carefully adapt their approach to each level, leveraging these traits to solve puzzles, activate mechanisms, and overcome a variety of obstacles. The game offers two control schemes to suit different playstyles: a precise four-directional view with keyboard controls and a more immersive free view that allows fluid camera movement with mouse input. Mastery of momentum and balance is crucial, as there is no jump function—every move relies on the natural behavior of gravity and inertia. The game features 40 thoughtfully designed stages split between main levels, which showcase the stunning and fantastical setting of the hanging gardens, and more challenging side levels that test players’ puzzle-solving skills and dexterity even further. Beyond the core experience, Ballex² includes a free Level Editor DLC, empowering players to create and share their own custom maps using a variety of assets and scripting options powered by JavaScript.
