MechWarrior 5: Clans – Ghost Bear: Flash Storm is an expansion set in the tumultuous universe of the BattleTech franchise, where Clan Ghost Bear strives to reclaim its lost honor and assert dominance in the race toward Terra. Following the death of Leo Showers and shifting political dynamics under Ulric Kerensky, players assume command of the Silveroot Keshik, an elite Ghost Bear unit led by Khans Bjorn Jorgenson and Aletha Kabrinski. The campaign unfolds across twelve missions that challenge players to secure strategic victories, including a high-stakes Trial of Possession to claim powerful new ‘Mechs and a decisive battle for control of Alshain—a planet rich in ‘Mech factories and orbital shipyards critical to war production. Gameplay in Flash Storm expands on the core MechWarrior 5 experience by introducing eight new ‘Mechs, including four OmniMechs like the Night Gyr and Ebon Jaguar, and four BattleMechs such as the iconic Kodiak and Jenner IIC. The enhanced MechLab allows for deeper customization, including engine swaps and full Omnipod integration, enabling players to tailor their machines to suit their preferred combat style. New tactical layers come from commanding Elemental squads led by Star Commander Rook, who supports your forces against rival clans in space and on the battlefield. Combat intensifies aboard massive warships like the Grizzly and pits players against formidable foes such as the Iron Talon boss, delivering an immersive blend of strategic command and intense, mech-based warfare.
