BRAVELY DEFAULT II takes players to the vibrant continent of Excillant, where the balance of nature is maintained by powerful Crystals embodying the elements of fire, water, wind, and earth. When these Crystals are stolen, their loss brings devastation to the land, prompting a group of unlikely heroes to rise and restore harmony. The story follows Seth, a young sailor who arrives in Excillant and joins forces with Gloria, the exiled princess of the fallen kingdom of Musa, which once protected the Crystals. Alongside them are Adelle, a mercenary bodyguard, and Elvis, a scholar in search of a mystical asterisk, each driven by their own motivations but united by a common goal. Together, they embark on an epic journey filled with discovery, danger, and the hope of reclaiming the world’s lost balance. The gameplay builds on the classic turn-based combat system that the Bravely series is known for, introducing a strategic twist through the Brave and Default mechanic. Players manage Brave Points (BP) to decide whether to save actions for future turns or unleash multiple attacks at once, creating a dynamic flow to battles that rewards careful planning. Characters can adopt two job classes simultaneously, blending unique abilities to form versatile or specialized roles tailored to the player’s tactics. Progression is tied to defeating powerful “Asterisk bearers,” bosses who guard new jobs and abilities. By overcoming these challenges, players unlock new ways to customize their party and develop strategies, making each encounter a fresh test of skill and adaptation as the story unfolds.
