Bright Memory is a fast-paced action game that blends first-person shooting with intense combat mechanics, crafted by the solo developer FYQD using Unreal Engine. Set in the year 2020, players take on the role of Shelia, a highly trained agent from the Supernatural Science Research Organization (SRO). The story unfolds around the discovery of two ancient swords, Kanshou and Bakuya, which harbor a mysterious substance called the "Soul of Jiu Xuan" capable of reanimating the dead. When a terrorist group known as SAI infiltrates the SRO to steal this dangerous material using a device called the Quantum Transporter, Shelia accidentally activates the transporter, sending everyone nearby to a long-forgotten Floating Island near the North Pole. There, she faces reanimated beasts and the remnants of a lost civilization, all while uncovering secrets tied to this enigmatic power. Gameplay in Bright Memory focuses on fluid combat that encourages players to combine a variety of skills and weapons to unleash stylish and powerful combos. The game’s first-person perspective also involves solving puzzles scattered throughout beautifully rendered stages that fuse sci-fi elements with influences from Chinese culture. As players progress, they earn points to upgrade Shelia’s abilities, allowing for personalized combat strategies and enhanced performance. The game’s narrative is driven by Shelia’s mission to stop the SAI and uncover the truth behind the Soul of Jiu Xuan, featuring a cast led by Shelia herself, a gifted operative raised by the SRO’s founder, Professor Richard Carter.
