Dinosaur Simulator invites players to step into the role of a project director for ACTAS, a private company tasked with reconstructing and managing a thriving dinosaur ecosystem on a newly discovered planet named Hope. Set in the distant future, the game unfolds against a backdrop where humanity has mastered cloning dinosaur DNA and developed faster-than-light travel, enabling the colonization of worlds beyond our solar system. Hope closely resembles Earth as it was 66 million years ago, offering a unique opportunity to revive over 40 species of dinosaurs—from herbivores and predators to pterosaurs and aquatic reptiles—and establish a dynamic prehistoric environment amid native alien wildlife. Gameplay centers around carefully selecting dinosaur species and strategically settling them across various locations on Hope, balancing ecological harmony with the company’s commercial ambitions. Players can engage in activities such as breeding dinosaurs, managing their populations, and selling eggs to generate revenue. Advanced technology also allows players to directly control dinosaur behavior, adding a layer of tactical depth to exploration and conflict resolution. Meanwhile, expeditions and hunts provide additional ways to interact with the planet and its native creatures. The story weaves in the historical extinction event caused by the Chicxulub asteroid and the subsequent resurgence of dinosaur life, creating a rich narrative context for players to build a functional and profitable dinosaur fauna on this alien world.
