Game Overview

Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star takes players into the digital realm of SE.RA.PH, a virtual world where Masters summon legendary Servants—heroes and villains from history and myth—to compete in a high-stakes Holy Grail War. Although the initial conflict has concluded with Servant Nero Claudius and her Master victorious, new threats loom as rival factions rise and a mysterious challenger emerges, threatening to unravel reality itself. Players join Nero and her allies as they navigate this turbulent landscape, uncovering ancient secrets while battling waves of enemies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Departing from the traditional turn-based combat of previous Fate titles, Fate/EXTELLA introduces fluid, high-speed action gameplay that allows players to directly control their chosen Servant in both ground and aerial combat. Each Servant boasts unique moves and a powerful transformation ability that shifts the tide of battle. The story unfolds through the perspectives of three heroine Servants, offering a multifaceted narrative crafted by Kinoko Nasu, the original creator of the Fate universe. Fans will also encounter a broad cast of characters drawn from various Fate series, including Fate/stay night, Fate/Apocrypha, and Fate/Grand Order, enriching the experience with familiar faces and interconnected lore. Featuring Japanese voice acting with multiple subtitle options, Fate/EXTELLA blends fast action and deep storytelling into a fresh chapter of the Fate saga.
