Game Overview

Fortified is a dynamic strategy shooter set in an alternate 1950s where Earth faces a relentless invasion from Martian forces. Players step into the shoes of one of four distinctive heroes, each inspired by classic pulp fiction archetypes—from a jetpack-equipped heroine to a battle-hardened Marine captain—as they combat relentless waves of towering robotic enemies. Blending third-person shooting with real-time strategy and tower defense elements, the game challenges players to not only engage in fast-paced combat but also to construct and manage an intricate network of defensive structures to protect their city from the advancing mechanical menace. The gameplay encourages both solo and cooperative play, supporting up to four players working together to coordinate defenses and combine their unique abilities for maximum impact. Progression involves mastering each hero’s specialized arsenal, which features a mix of Cold War-era weaponry and experimental technology, while strategically deploying turrets and other fortifications to hold back increasingly difficult enemy waves. Fortified’s retro sci-fi aesthetic, heavily influenced by 1950s comic book art and Cold War futurism, creates an immersive atmosphere that complements its genre-blending mechanics. Whether playing alone or with friends, the game offers a fresh take on defense gameplay, emphasizing teamwork, strategy, and fast reflexes against a backdrop of pulpy, nostalgic sci-fi action.
