Gunnhildr

Gunnhildr is a fast-paced first-person roguelite set in the dying world of Niflheim, a realm suffering from a critical shortage of Raw Halite—an essential resource vital to life. As the planet faces ecological collapse and political stagnation, Gunnhildr, the last Ancient warrior, is sent to plead with the Gods of Asgard for help. When they refuse and shatter the Bifrost, isolating Niflheim from the other worlds, she is condemned by the ruling Primes and trapped in the dark underworld of Niflhel. The game begins with her daring escape, launching players into a journey through dynamically generated dungeons filled with hostile enemies, hidden treasures, and mysterious relics. Gameplay revolves around fast, fluid combat using an extensive arsenal of upgradable guns, grenades, and melee attacks, alongside magical power-ups that modify weapon abilities. Players collect Halite crystals from defeated foes and scattered deposits, which serve multiple purposes: restoring shields, cooling down weapons, unlocking new items, and purchasing supplies. Each run offers a fresh experience with randomized layouts and loot drops, encouraging strategic decisions about weapon upgrades and resource management. Between intense battles, a companion named Lucky shares pieces of Niflheim’s rich lore, deepening the narrative and context of the rebellion against the Primes. Continually evolving through Early Access, Gunnhildr promises ongoing additions to its worlds, gear, and gameplay systems, inviting players to join a growing community shaping its development.
