Game Overview
Ire: A Prologue is a first-person horror game set aboard a mysterious, abandoned ship lost in the depths of the Bermuda Triangle. Players take on the role of Emily, a young teenager searching for her missing father, with only the ship’s dark corridors and thirteen locked doors standing between her and the truth. The game blends stealth and survival elements as a relentless monster stalks the ship, forcing players to carefully navigate narrow passageways, hide in tight spaces, and use distractions to evade capture. Each encounter escalates in intensity as the creature adapts to your tactics, creating a tense cat-and-mouse experience where sound and silence become crucial tools for survival. Built with Unreal Engine 5, Ire: A Prologue delivers an atmospheric experience enriched by full 3D spatial audio and a haunting orchestral soundtrack recorded with the Nashville Recording Orchestra. The story unfolds gradually through found journals, cassettes, and other items scattered throughout the ship, revealing fragments of a deeper mystery that sets the stage for a larger horror franchise. With a focus on immersive storytelling and a nostalgic nod to 80s and 90s horror, the game’s tension system dynamically reacts to player actions, using ambient sounds, music, and breathing cues to heighten suspense. As the prologue to a sprawling narrative, Ire challenges players to survive multiple loops through the ship, piecing together the chilling secrets that lie within before the monster catches up.
