Game Overview
King Arthur: Legion IX is a turn-based tactical RPG set in a dark, mythic version of Avalon, expanding on the universe established in King Arthur: Knight's Tale. The game introduces a fresh storyline centered around the arrival of the long-lost Ninth Legion of Rome, led by the undead tribune Gaius Julius Mento. Bound by a demonic pact, Mento seeks to reclaim his scattered legion and conquer Avalon to establish Eternal Rome. Players will navigate a richly atmospheric world where ancient Roman legions clash with supernatural forces, including monstrous Fomorians, hostile Pict tribes, and the mystical Sídhe, all while contending with the knights of Sir Mordred’s Round Table. Over the course of 15 handcrafted missions, choices matter deeply, shaping not only the fate of Nova Roma but also Mento’s own destiny—whether to embrace demonic power or reclaim his lost humanity. Gameplay in Legion IX blends strategic, turn-based combat with character-driven role-playing elements. Players command a party of five to six heroes, each with unique skill trees and abilities that can be customized and upgraded through loot and crafting. Tactical depth is emphasized through positioning, cover, flanking, and an overwatch system that rewards careful planning as well as bold action. Outside of battle, players manage and expand the Roman colony of Nova Roma, balancing scarce resources to build facilities that support their heroes’ progression and readiness. With multiple difficulty settings, varied tactical options, and a story shaped by player decisions, King Arthur: Legion IX offers a challenging and immersive experience for fans of both RPGs and strategy games alike.
