Game Overview
Metavoidal places you in the role of an ambitious drummer who, after a failed audition with a mysterious metal band, finds himself trapped in a nightmarish world twisted by the band's dark influence. The once-familiar surroundings—a church, graveyards, and catacombs—have become overrun with corrupted fans and eldritch horrors, all under the sway of the band’s sinister music. To break free from this curse, you must confront and defeat each band member in intense, solo battles that test your skill and strategy. Each foe wields unique and over-the-top abilities, turning these encounters into dynamic duels where your drumsticks are your only weapons. Gameplay revolves around building your drumming prowess and playlist by collecting cursed music records scattered throughout the levels. These records unlock elemental tracks—Fire, Lightning, Oil, and Holy—that grant special powers to your drumming style, allowing you to customize your approach to combat and crowd control. Though rhythm and timing are key, Metavoidal is not a traditional rhythm game; instead, it blends action and progression as you level up your skills, trade resources with a quirky companion named BingBong, and adapt your strategy to survive increasingly challenging hordes. The game also features a rich soundtrack with 16 original songs and over 70 variations, dynamically shifting to reflect your chosen powers and intensifying the atmosphere. With its blend of heavy-metal aesthetics, strategic upgrades, and boss battles, Metavoidal offers a unique fusion of music-driven action and dark fantasy adventure.
