Game Overview
Moons of Madness is a psychological horror game set on Mars, where players take on the role of Shane Newehart, an engineer stationed at the Trailblazer Alpha research outpost. The facility was secretly built by the corporation Orochi to investigate a mysterious, intelligent signal detected from the red planet. Unaware of the signal’s existence due to his limited security clearance, Shane’s job is straightforward: maintain the base’s systems until a new team arrives. However, things quickly spiral out of control as critical systems start failing, strange mists fill the greenhouse, and the rest of the crew vanishes during an EVA mission. As isolation sets in, Shane begins experiencing disturbing hallucinations and visions that blur the line between reality and madness, creating a tense atmosphere steeped in cosmic horror. The game blends realistic Mars exploration with supernatural elements, immersing players in a detailed and believable setting based on real-world technology, including computers, electrical systems, rovers, and solar panels. Players must navigate the base, troubleshoot malfunctions, and venture beyond the outpost to uncover the dark mysteries lurking on Mars. The story explores themes of isolation, paranoia, and the fragility of the human mind when confronted with the unknown. As Shane’s grip on reality weakens, players are challenged to discern what is real while surviving an increasingly nightmarish environment. Moons of Madness offers a unique fusion of sci-fi and horror, delivering a suspenseful narrative and atmospheric gameplay that keeps tension high throughout the experience.
