Beyond resource management, the game challenges you to defend your outposts against waves of persistent “good” forces using a variety of tactics. You can build walls to funnel enemies, set traps, and turn your workers into combat-ready soldiers by constructing barracks and towers. The active pause feature allows for thoughtful strategy planning, making each encounter a test of tactical decision-making. A key feature of NecroCity: Prologue is its mod system, which lets players customize their defenses with magical enhancements, such as adding chain lightning to fireballs or siphoning enemies’ life force to heal your troops.
