Nightfall Comes is a skill-based roguelike action game set in a post-apocalyptic world where civilization has vanished, leaving monsters to roam the ruins. The few remaining survivors, born from different races and backgrounds, have gathered in a solitary castle built on a fief, each driven by their own goals and motivations. Players take control of four distinct characters, each with unique skills, combat styles, and personal stories revealed through cinematic sequences. Some characters specialize in defensive tactics like parrying or evading attacks, while others charge in recklessly, embracing high-risk combat. This diversity allows for varied gameplay strategies as you progress through the game. The castle serves as a central hub, offering a fixed structure but with branching paths to explore during each expedition. Encounters with enemies and environmental challenges are randomized, ensuring no two runs are the same. Players can enhance their characters’ abilities by leveling up, equipping Glyphs to strengthen individual skills, and utilizing scrolls and relics to overcome difficult moments. While defeat sends you back to your hideout and results in some lost progress, permanent upgrades and newly discovered artifacts help improve future runs.
