Game Overview
Phoenix Point is a tactical strategy game set in a near-future Earth devastated by a mutating alien threat known as the Pandoravirus. As the leader of the Phoenix Project, a secret organization assembled to repel this relentless invasion, players must guide their forces through a dynamic and hostile world. The game combines base-building, resource management, and exploration across a ravaged globe, challenging players to research new technologies and develop advanced weapons to stay one step ahead of the evolving alien menace. The narrative unfolds through multiple endings and a deep storyline that reveals the origins of the Pandoravirus and the shadowy past of the Phoenix Project itself. Beyond combating the alien threat, players must navigate complex diplomatic relations with three distinct human factions: the militaristic New Jericho, the technophilic Synedrion, and the fanatical Disciples of Anu. Each faction offers unique alliances, rewards, and challenges, allowing for varied approaches ranging from cooperation and subterfuge to outright warfare. Combat features a distinctive free-aiming system that lets players target specific enemy weak points or equipment, adding a layer of tactical depth to each encounter. Developed by Julian Gollop, the creator of the original X-COM series, Phoenix Point modernizes classic turn-based strategy gameplay with updated visuals, systems, and an active modding community supported through Steam Workshop, providing extensive replayability and customization.
