Set in a charming world where the two universes collide, the game follows an all-new story as a diverse cast of characters—including familiar faces and fresh additions like Sonic the Hedgehog—work together to save their friends from a mysterious dark corruption. Players navigate an overworld map in Adventure Mode, strengthening their characters by increasing stats such as HP, MP, Attack, Defense, and Recovery to prepare for intense battles. The gameplay offers a variety of modes to suit different playstyles, ranging from solo puzzles to competitive and cooperative multiplayer matches supporting up to four players both online and locally. Notably, the new Skill Battle mode introduces RPG-inspired mechanics where characters’ unique abilities can alter the flow of the match—healing, changing Puyo colors, or clearing lines—adding strategic depth to the familiar puzzle formula.
