Retro Machina takes place in a post-human world where the last city on Earth, Endeavor, is inhabited solely by robots. Encased beneath a protective glass dome, this once-thriving metropolis is maintained by worker robots who strive for perfection in their tasks. When one such robot is deemed faulty and discarded to the junkyard, it embarks on a determined quest to repair itself. However, the city’s defenses now view this lone robot as a threat, turning former allies into enemies. Unique to this protagonist is the ability to hack and take control of other machines within the city, including hostile robots, allowing for creative problem-solving and combat strategies as it navigates its path toward self-repair and the hope of discovering intelligent life beyond the robotic inhabitants.
