Robots at Midnight is a retro-futuristic action RPG set on the devastated planet of Yob, once a luxurious world now left in ruins and overrun by rogue machines. After spending two decades in cryo-sleep, the protagonist Zoe awakens to a harsh, unfamiliar landscape where survival depends on skill and determination. Her primary goal is to find her missing father, who disappeared during a catastrophic event known as The Blackout. As Zoe ventures through the decayed remnants of Yob, she faces off against hostile robot gangs and massive bosses, all while uncovering hidden secrets about the planet’s tragic past. The game emphasizes fluid, momentum-based combat fueled by Zoe’s unique space-gauntlet, the MITT, which allows for dynamic movement and creative battle strategies. Players can launch enemies into the air, glide through environments, and chain attacks with precision, making traversal as important as fighting. Robots at Midnight offers two distinct difficulty modes: Hero Mode, designed for a more accessible, story-driven experience, and Master Mode, which challenges even the most seasoned players with intense reflex and strategy demands. Alongside combat, exploration plays a key role, encouraging players to piece together lost technologies and lore to better understand Yob’s downfall and Zoe’s place in this fractured future.
