Rocketbirds 2: Evolution continues the adventures of Hardboiled Chicken, a tough and resourceful hero caught in the middle of a dark and mysterious penguin conspiracy. The game is divided into two interconnected parts: “The Cockup,” which follows Hardboiled’s thrilling journey through cinematic platforming and action-adventure sequences with light puzzle elements, and “The Rescue,” where players take command of a team of pint-sized budgie commandos tasked with rescuing and recruiting hostages deep behind enemy lines. Both parts can be played independently or in sequence, ultimately combining to reveal the full story of evolution and resistance against the sinister forces at play. Gameplay focuses on dynamic side-scrolling shooter action, featuring a variety of enemies ranging from evil penguins to space owls and other bizarre fowl adversaries. Players utilize jetpacks and an arsenal of powerful, upgradeable weapons to navigate challenging environments and overcome threats. The second part of the game expands on progression with over 100 weapons, costumes, and stackable character abilities that can be unlocked through procedurally generated missions. It also introduces cooperative play supporting up to four players both online and offline, with drop-in/drop-out functionality, as well as a player-versus-player mini-game for competitive fun. Complemented by an original soundtrack from New World Revolution, Rocketbirds 2: Evolution offers a blend of intense action, engaging story, and varied gameplay mechanics.
