RUINER is a fast-paced action shooter set in the dystopian cyberpunk city of Rengkok in the year 2091. Players take on the role of a wired, highly skilled protagonist determined to uncover the truth behind a corrupt system while attempting to rescue his kidnapped brother. Guided by a mysterious hacker ally, the story unfolds amidst a dark, oppressive metropolis ruled by powerful corporate entities specializing in virtual reality technologies. The narrative focuses on themes of trust and survival in a brutal world where violence is often the only way forward. The gameplay emphasizes lightning-quick combat that blends raw power with precision and strategy. Players can engage enemies using a diverse arsenal of futuristic firearms and melee weapons, enhanced by cybernetic tools such as energy shields, dash abilities, and hacking devices that can turn foes into allies. Combat encourages players to mix overwhelming force with tactical choices, including the ability to slow down time and pick apart enemy defenses. Progression involves mastering these augmented abilities and upgrading equipment to take on increasingly dangerous opponents.
