Game Overview
ShockRods is a fast-paced arena shooter that puts players behind the wheel of highly maneuverable, customizable vehicles called ShockRods. Developed by Stainless Games, the title combines classic arena combat with intense vehicular mayhem, offering both player-versus-player and player-versus-environment modes for up to 12 participants. Each ShockRod is equipped with multi-directional boosters that allow for rapid changes in direction and high-flying jumps, creating a dynamic and thrilling gameplay experience. The game’s controls are easy to pick up but offer a rewarding depth for those who master the high-octane driving and combat mechanics. Set across six diverse environments—from natural deserts and woodlands to purpose-built battle arenas—ShockRods challenges players to exploit their vehicle’s agility in a variety of game modes. Alongside traditional matches like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag, the game introduces unique modes such as Golden Ram and Shockball, which add fresh team-based strategies and objectives. Players can fully customize their vehicles with different bodies, colors, wheels, and taunt effects, all unlocked through in-game currency earned by performing well in battles. The arsenal is equally varied, featuring an array of weapons and power-ups scattered throughout the maps, ranging from classic rocket launchers and miniguns to unconventional tools like balloon cannons and freeze guns, ensuring chaotic and unpredictable combat every match.
