Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut places players on a dark and tense journey through a mysterious forest leading to a secluded cabin, where a captive princess awaits in the basement. The player’s mission is clear but harrowing: to slay the princess in order to prevent an apocalyptic fate. Throughout the game, the princess uses every tool at her disposal—charm, deceit, and manipulation—to deter and ultimately defeat the player, making the encounter a psychological battle of wits and willpower. The narrative unfolds through a branching story where the choices you make, along with what you believe, shape both your character and the outcome, offering a variety of paths and endings. Although the princess may tempt players with promises or attempts at romance, the game warns that such detours rarely end well, reinforcing the high stakes of the mission. This edition, developed by the creators of Scarlet Hollow, expands on the original with three new chapters filled with fresh mysteries and consequences, as well as significant extensions to key story routes like The Den, The Apotheosis, and The Fury. The game blends elements of psychological horror, visual novel storytelling, and light RPG mechanics, all brought to life through stunning hand-penciled art by Ignatz-winning graphic novelist Abby Howard. Fully voiced performances by Jonathan Sims and Nichole Goodnight add emotional depth to the richly written dialogue, which now exceeds 2,500 lines. Players can track their progress, revisit pivotal moments, and uncover hidden secrets using an all-new gallery feature. With over 1,200 new hand-drawn frames and more than 35% additional content overall, The Pristine Cut offers a deeper, more immersive experience that challenges players to stay focused on their grim task—and perhaps find an ending that saves the world rather than dooms it.
