Game Overview
Set during the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, STAR WARS: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles offers an action-packed side-scrolling adventure where players take on the role of iconic Jedi Knights to reclaim Theed Palace from waves of battle droids, destroyer droids, assassins, and other familiar enemies. The game features a cast of playable characters including Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, Adi Gallia, and Qui-Gon Jinn, with additional characters like Darth Maul, Captain Panaka, Queen Amidala, Ki-Adi Mundi, and even the Battle Droid unlocked from the start. Each character brings unique abilities and lightsaber combat styles, allowing for varied gameplay as players use the Force and their trusty lightsabers to overcome increasingly challenging foes. Players progress through a 10-level campaign set across different locations from the film, with the option to team up in classic couch co-op mode for two-player action throughout the entire adventure and bonus mini-games. The game supports both classic and modern control schemes, and fans can customize lightsaber colors to match those seen in the movies. To celebrate the game’s 25th anniversary, several new features have been added, including new playable characters like the Tusken Raider, classic cheat codes such as Big Head Mode, and other surprises that enhance replayability. A controller is required for local multiplayer, making it an engaging choice for fans looking to experience fast-paced, cooperative Jedi battles in the Star Wars universe.
