Game Overview
Teardown is a physics-based sandbox game set in a fully destructible voxel world, where players plan and execute elaborate heists using creativity, strategy, and brute force. The game’s story-driven campaign follows a demolition expert who, after accepting a risky offer to save their struggling business, becomes entangled in a web of revenge, betrayal, and insurance fraud. Across 40 challenging missions, players must steal cars, blow up safes, and navigate environments filled with hazards like trigger-happy robots, all while upgrading their arsenal of tools by uncovering hidden valuables scattered throughout the levels. The gameplay encourages inventive problem-solving, allowing players to break, move, or repurpose virtually anything in the environment to carve out efficient paths and escape routes. Beyond the single-player campaign, Teardown offers a robust multiplayer mode supporting up to 12 players, where friends or strangers can collaborate or compete in heists, sandbox destruction, or community-created mods. The sandbox mode provides unlimited resources and freedom to experiment with destruction, vehicles, and tools, making it a playground for creative chaos. The game’s extensive modding support—complete with a developer-level editor, Lua scripting, and Steam Workshop integration—empowers players to create custom maps, tools, vehicles, and game modes, vastly expanding replayability. An additional free mini-campaign called Art Vandals introduces new missions and tools, showcasing the game’s powerful modding capabilities and offering fresh challenges in a quaint village setting. With its innovative physics, dynamic environments, and varied gameplay options, Teardown delivers a unique blend of strategy, destruction, and creativity.
