Telling Lies is an investigative thriller that puts players in the role of a curious observer uncovering a complex web of secrets through a collection of secretly recorded video conversations. Developed by Sam Barlow, known for his work on Her Story, the game centers around an anonymous laptop containing a stolen NSA database filled with footage spanning two years. These videos capture the intertwined lives of four individuals, played by Logan Marshall-Green, Alexandra Shipp, Kerry Bishé, and Angela Sarafyan, whose stories are connected by a mysterious and unsettling event. Gameplay revolves around exploring this vast archive by entering search terms to locate clips where specific words are spoken. Players piece together fragmented conversations and moments, gradually revealing the deeper narrative at their own pace.
