Game Overview
The Fidelio Incident is a single-player, first-person narrative thriller set on a remote, frozen island off the coast of Iceland. Players assume the role of Stanley, who, after surviving a violent plane crash, must navigate the desolate landscape in search of his missing wife, Leonore. As rescue approaches, Stanley is forced to confront a dark and bloody past rooted in their shared Irish history, all while trying to keep their true identities hidden. The game weaves together a tense atmosphere with a compelling storyline that draws inspiration from narrative-driven titles like Dear Esther, Gone Home, and Firewatch, as well as dramatic television series such as Homeland and Lost. Built on Unreal Engine 4, The Fidelio Incident combines exploration and storytelling with a richly detailed environment, enhanced by over 40 minutes of original music composed by Michael Krikorian. His score thoughtfully incorporates themes from Beethoven’s opera Fidelio, reimagined to fit the game’s moody setting and emotional depth. The characters come to life through performances by Glenn Keogh, known for his work in film and television, who brings authenticity to Stanley, and Bess Harrison, whose portrayal of Leonore adds a heartfelt presence. Together, these elements create an immersive experience that challenges players to uncover secrets while immersing themselves in a haunting and mysterious world.
