The House of Hikmah invites players into a richly imagined world where history and imagination intertwine. Following the death of her father, 14-year-old Maya steps into the House of Wisdom, a mystical sanctuary filled with centuries of knowledge and inspired by the great Scholars of the Islamic Golden Age. As she explores nine uniquely themed realms, each reflecting the discoveries and inventions of these legendary figures, Maya uncovers the secrets of her father’s legacy while confronting the emotional challenges that come with loss and healing. The game’s atmosphere is enhanced by a moving soundtrack composed by Austin Wintory, adding depth and resonance to Maya’s journey. Gameplay centers around a mysterious heirloom device left by Maya’s father, which allows her to manipulate elements and matter in creative ways. Players solve physics-based puzzles by transforming materials—gliding through wind currents, balancing scales through metal transmutation, passing through ethereal walls, bending light, and more—to progress through the interconnected worlds.
