The Proponent

The Proponent is a first-person horror game that immerses players in a mysterious, ever-shifting building where something terrible has occurred. The environment itself feels alive and unsettling, as rooms rearrange like a shuffled deck of cards and strange creatures lurk in the shadows. Players take on the role of a lone survivor trying to navigate this twisted place, uncover its secrets, and ultimately escape. The game emphasizes atmosphere and storytelling through environmental details, supplemented occasionally by notes and audio files that deepen the narrative without relying solely on traditional exposition. Gameplay centers around exploration and survival, with a limited arsenal that encourages careful resource management. Players must skillfully use weapons and conserve ammunition while employing a unique “Mirror” mechanic to reveal hidden elements invisible to the naked eye.
