This aged monastery houses both a madhouse and an inquisitorial prison, where five prisoners—Agnes, Leonora, Eduardo, Amelia, and Alfredo—grapple with their own traumas and phobias while striving to uncover the monastery’s dark secrets and ultimately find a way to escape. Players alternate control between these characters, each with unique, upgradable abilities that range from casting spells and assassinating targets to distracting guards and stunning malevolent spirits. Exploration is key, as clues and tools are scattered throughout the monastery’s shadowy corridors, and success depends on cleverly combining the characters’ skills while avoiding detection by the unforgiving guards. The game’s progression is deeply tied to the mental state of each character, with sanity playing a vital role in how the story unfolds. Triggering a character’s fears and traumas can lead to debilitating effects such as paranoia or violence, fundamentally altering gameplay. Time flows continuously, with a dynamic day-night cycle affecting both guard behavior and the emergence of supernatural threats.
