This is a Ghost is a cooperative ghost-hunting game that immerses players in paranormal investigations across a variety of eerie locations. Set across 11 distinct maps, each with its own atmosphere and size, players take on the role of ghost hunters tasked with identifying and banishing supernatural entities. The game features 23 different types of evidence to collect and analyze, helping players determine the ghost’s behavior—whether it is vengeful, residual, or lost—and narrow down its identity from 69 possible entities. Each ghost type has unique abilities, such as demons that can possess players temporarily, banshees that immobilize victims with terrifying screams, and sirens that drain life and energy from nearby hunters. The game supports solo play as well as cooperative sessions with up to four players, offering three difficulty levels plus an optional challenge mode to keep investigations engaging. Players are equipped with a variety of professional tools, including EMF radars, night vision, paranormal filters, motion sensors, and more, to detect and track paranormal activity within a 50-meter range. Combat and defense are also part of the gameplay, with weapons like pistols and shotguns, alongside protective items like shields, incense, and runes. Progressing through contracts involves not only banishing the entity but also completing investigative quests such as uncovering the ghost’s identity, year and cause of death, and favorite room. Photography plays a key role, with players able to capture up to 12 unique photos per game that vary in value depending on rarity and distance. These photos, along with successful investigations, contribute to a player’s reputation, unlocking new entities, maps, and equipment upgrades. Additionally, the game includes a crafting system to customize ammunition for weakening specific ghost traits, detailed statistics tracking, and automatic speedrun recording, adding depth and replayability to the ghost-hunting experience.
