We Are Not Alone blends first-person horror with third-person adventure to deliver a suspenseful experience centered around a unique camera mechanic. Players take on the role of Riley, who is desperately searching for her sister after communications with the Osiris Initiative—a leading medical technology company—suddenly stop. Fired from her job while trying to uncover the truth, Riley volunteers as a test subject in the initiative’s mysterious experiment, hoping it will lead her to answers. However, the facility holds dark secrets, and the experiment may be far more dangerous than it seems. Gameplay revolves around exploring a sprawling complex filled with puzzles and hidden dangers. Players use the camera to safely scout their surroundings from a first-person perspective, as the lurking creature cannot meet the camera’s gaze. However, placing the camera down is necessary to interact with objects and solve puzzles in third person, adding tension as vulnerability increases. Throughout the game, players gather items, piece together the story behind the experiment, and navigate encounters with unsettling remnants of civilization. The narrative unfolds through player choices, culminating in multiple possible endings that reflect the consequences of their actions.
