Within the Cosmos is a single-player first-person sci-fi RPG set in the year 2278, where humanity faces near extinction. As one of 500 members of the United Earth Space Agency placed in cryogenic sleep aboard a starship bound for the distant Adallio star system, you awaken generations later than intended to find a fractured society. Humanity has splintered into multiple factions, each with its own beliefs and agendas, while a mysterious and deadly android threat looms over this fragile new world. Your mission is to navigate this divided landscape, forging alliances or rivalries as you uncover the truth behind the relentless attacks and determine humanity’s fate. The game offers deep character customization, allowing you to design your appearance and distribute attribute points across core stats like Constitution, Dexterity, and Charisma, which influence health, combat, and social interactions. Progression grants skill points to develop abilities such as Intimidation, Hacking, and more, tailoring your approach to exploration, dialogue, stealth, or combat. Hacking plays a key role, enabling you to manipulate electronics, access terminals, and gain tactical advantages. Exploration of hand-crafted planets in the Adallio system reveals a complex story shaped by your choices, impacting relationships, faction dynamics, and multiple endings. Weapon customization further supports varied play styles, letting you outfit gear with attachments that enhance performance.
