Strawberry Vinegar invites players into the life of Sakuraba Rie, a sharp-tongued and solitary nine-year-old girl who struggles to connect with her classmates. Her quiet, somewhat gloomy world is suddenly disrupted when Licia, a mischievous demon claiming to be from the depths of Hell, appears unexpectedly in her kitchen to steal a tray of cookies. This unusual encounter sparks a unique relationship that players explore through an interactive narrative filled with meaningful choices and multiple possible endings. As the story unfolds, players decide whether Rie and Licia will develop a friendship or something deeper, shaping their connection through dialogue and decisions. The game offers around 80,000 words of text, providing approximately four to seven hours of immersive reading. Alongside the branching storylines, Strawberry Vinegar features expressive character sprites with a variety of charming outfits, enhancing the emotional depth and personality of its protagonists.
